From the Classroom to the Pulpit: Stephanie Stark’s Journey to Ministry

Stephanie Stark, a dedicated seminarian at Emmanuel Lutheran Global Seminary, is pursuing her Master of Divinity and working toward ordination in the ELCA. She is currently engaged in the Candidacy process, marking an important milestone in her discernment and preparation for pastoral ministry. Balancing her theological studies with a full-time career as a public-school teacher and a part-time role as a media specialist at her church, St. Andrew Lutheran in Port St. Lucie, Florida, Stephanie continues to deepen her call to serve.

She is currently completing her spring semester at Southern Seminary, where she is enrolled in courses on the Lutheran Confessions and Stewardship. In the previous semester, she explored Lutheranism in North America and Polity, producing a video on the history of her congregation, now featured on her church's website.

​

Now midway through her seminary journey, Stephanie has already delivered her first sermon, titled "Can You Hear Me, Now?" She looks forward to refining her pastoral gifts, completing her remaining requirements, and graduating within two years. Guided by the Holy Spirit, she hopes to retire from teaching and embracing a new chapter of service in ministry wherever she is called next.
